Overview
User Settings are stored in the database and move with users as they go from workstation to workstation. However, if a user changes these settings at a workstation, these changes will not be applied to a different user at the same workstation. This article will cover what each setting means within Savance Enterprise.
General User Settings
To view, your general settings from the top menu go Settings > General Settings
Auto-Confirm Order Conversion – If checked, after converting a Quote/RFQ the confirmation screen will not be displayed unless there was an error. It is the Import Status screen that lets you know that the order was converted successfully.
Auto-Confirm Confirmation – If checked, Savance Enterprise will not prompt you before converting a Quote/RFQ if there are no warnings. It is a screen that asks if you want to convert this to an order.
Auto Find Closest Part Number Match – If there is only one item matching the Part Number entered on the Line Item Spreadsheet, that item is automatically selected.
Auto Select Exact Part Number Match – If the Part Number entered on the Line Item Spreadsheet is an exact match to an item in the database, that item is automatically selected.
Ignore Special Characters /,\-,0,O (new in v10) - When typing in a part number, if has any of these special characters, the search will ignore it and it is unnecessary to type them in as part of the search.
Automatically Save – If checked, a new Quote or RFQ will automatically save without prompting. A Quote/RFQ cannot be converted without saving first.
Confirm Exit – If checked, Savance Enterprise will prompt you before the program closes.
Hide Manufacturer Column – If checked, the Manufacturer/Model column on the Line Item Spreadsheet will not be displayed.
Hide Reminders – If checked, the Reminders / In Box will not be shown on the right side of your screen.
Lookup Pricing History – If checked, after adding an item to the Line Item Spreadsheet the Pricing History of that item is displayed in a pop-up frame.
Pop up Complementary List – If checked, after adding an item to the Line Item Spreadsheet a Complementary List for that item is displayed in a pop-up frame. These are the part numbers that are marked as "Complements" for this item from the Product Info tab of the Item Manager.
Prompt for non-existing Contact - In the scenario that on an account you are adding a new contact, the system will prompt if you would like to add this person as a new contact for that account.
Prompt for non-existing Job - If you were to enter a Job name that is not recognized in a quote/order it will prompt if you would like to add that new Job/Job Name their Job list under Manage Accounts
Prompt for Vendor Delivery Methods - A prompt will appear when you convert a PO if you would like to override and or add a specific delivery method of sending the PO, i.e. email the PO, or print.
Select and Highlight Results Pane after Search – If checked, after doing an Inventory or Order Search, the Results pane will be automatically selected and highlighted. This allows the user to easily use the up/down arrows on the keyboard to sift through the list of results, and then the Enter key can be pressed to select an item.
Customer Part Number at End of Description – If a part number on the spreadsheet has a customer part number, this will add it to the end of the description.
Display Delivery Date as Days / Weeks – If checked, the Delivery Date will display as the number of days or weeks instead of the exact date.
Show Refresh Options - The refresh prompt will give you a list of items you can refresh or choose not to refresh when you select the “refresh” icon within a quote, order, RFQ, PO, RMA, or RTV.
Auto Expand Description – Automatically expands the description column. This helps to keep each line in the Order Entry screen to be the same size (instead of growing in size due to a long description).
Add Comment to the Last Line – This will add your customer comment as the last line item on your order.
Refresh old quotes – Check this if a quote should be refreshed with the latest pricing after the number of days that you specify. For example, if you want all orders older than 30 days to automatically refresh when you open it (to update changes in cost, pricing, etc), check this box and specify "30" for the number of days.
- Show quote refreshment confirmation – If checked the Refresh Options window will be displayed during the automatic refresh
Auto Hide Columns in Receiving Screen - If selected it will condense the receiving columns down to just show basic information about what is received vs. a detailed look that includes backorders, broken, locations etc.
Select All Warehouses when Receiving Money - If selected by default when you go to the receive money screen to accept money “ALL WHSES” will default, instead of making you choose a location if you have multiple.
